High School Girls from Likoni Participate in Regional Technovation 2018 Speed Judging

As iron sharpens iron so does one man sharpens another. The speed judging event was one iron-sharpening arena where our girls – the technovation participants – from Mtongwe Girls Secondary School, Tumaini Timbwani High School, and Likoni Community Muslim Girls had an opportunity to pitch their ideas before a panel of judges on 10th March at Safaricom regional offices, Mombasa.

The panel of judges was gracious and straightforward. They were able to highlight areas where the teams need improvement and applauded them where they showed great genius insight. They also shared selflessly tips on how to carry out a hands-on research about potential stakeholders and customers of their apps. It was a day filled with positivism, laughter, tension and fun.

Above all, I was amazed at how the teams’ ideas can turn the tables in our communities if they work on them with great zeal and are accorded support from each one of us. This is yet another revolution of brilliant young girls spear heading change in our communities. We are raising a generation of the game changers and I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has our back in this journey. We wish all our teams all the best. Girls, “Go forth, do great!”
